It's Quiet Here

Another mostly sleepless night for me.  😳  So, at 3:30 I put down my craft things and baked a loaf of "Extra Buttery Bread."

It is just that;  very good.

I finished the sock, but decided to wait until today to seam it up, because "...surely I'll get sleepy soon."  Nope.
I did finish seaming a few minutes ago.

But those two aren't the biggest news of the night morning.  My television is broken.  There's sound, but no picture.  I went through every suggestion for getting the picture back that I could find online.  Nothing.  I've called around for some estimates on getting it fixed, and buying a new set is about the same price.  Some of the repair shops have a backlog of a couple of weeks or so.  Rush jobs put the pedal to the price metal.  So, buying would also be quicker.  My Medicare premium was due this month, therefore, I'm looking at several days TV-less.

I had a sleepless night also. Couldn't fall asleep. Couldn't stay asleep. I watched old movies on TCM with the sound off all night. Reading the captions usually puts me asleep but......nope. The bread looks amazing as does the sock. I did knit some last night when I couldn't sleep but only got one round on the Pi Shawl before it bored me.

I wouldn't even know how to get a TV repaired. Hopefully you can stream things on your computer and not get too bored!

Went to Atlanta for a postponed Mother's Day day today.   First stop:  H Mart .  Completely overwhelming.  We stuck to pre-packaged things, so as not to leave fresh and/or frozen things in my car.  Interesting along the way: and Now, I'm not trying to be culturally insensitive, but, no thanks. Next: a  rotating sushi  bar.*  Delicious.  I tried to keep myself in check, as Hannah was paying.  Let's just say I could have eaten much more. Then back to her apartment to watch "Barbie."  She had even bought special drinks. Another special day. *The sushi rotated, not the building.

 You live in a little apartment in the center of town OR a little cabin in a secluded forest... I'll go with a cabin.  I do like a nice apartment, but a cozy little place with a fire?  No worries about neighbors?  Win. It's rained here all day.  Never particularly hard, but quite steady.  There were 6 or 8 minutes of sun at Noon, then right back to the rain.  There are spotty power outages and trees down, but not right here.  There weren't even that many branches down in the yard.
