I officially give up on crochet.*  I have tried and tried and failed and failed.  I bought one of those Woobles kits.  (Lion, of course.)  I started and ripped out so many times that it all went in the trash.  With quite a bit of force.  No matter the amount of tries, no matter the number of times I watched the videos, the correct number of stitches never, ever appeared.

All I wanted was a lion friend.

And to know how to make a blanket that's one giant granny square:


Once again, I'm that old dog who can't seem to learn something new.






*Except for long chains.

So crochet amigurumi isn't your thing, is all. Lots of people can't stand the fiddly counting, etc of that kind of crochet.

I can't crochet either. I've done it and will keep doing it when the mood hits me but it never looks like what it's supposed to. It's too free form for me. I need my stitches lined up on a needle where I can see them.

Went to Atlanta for a postponed Mother's Day day today.   First stop:  H Mart .  Completely overwhelming.  We stuck to pre-packaged things, so as not to leave fresh and/or frozen things in my car.  Interesting along the way: and Now, I'm not trying to be culturally insensitive, but, no thanks. Next: a  rotating sushi  bar.*  Delicious.  I tried to keep myself in check, as Hannah was paying.  Let's just say I could have eaten much more. Then back to her apartment to watch "Barbie."  She had even bought special drinks. Another special day. *The sushi rotated, not the building.

Accommodations

 You live in a little apartment in the center of town OR a little cabin in a secluded forest... I'll go with a cabin.  I do like a nice apartment, but a cozy little place with a fire?  No worries about neighbors?  Win. It's rained here all day.  Never particularly hard, but quite steady.  There were 6 or 8 minutes of sun at Noon, then right back to the rain.  There are spotty power outages and trees down, but not right here.  There weren't even that many branches down in the yard.
