My sister visited Auschwitz a few years ago when her son was stationed near there in a diplomatic post. Photography is prohibited inside but I have to say my jaw dropped when without warning, I saw photos of them at the familiar entrance and at the train station. Her husband's family is Jewish and originally from that area but no records have ever been found beyond the war years.
