I'm still enamored with the shoes. A commenter mentioned having a pair of clogs like the ones in the photo. I think I had a pair of clogs myself, though I'm not sure? It sure seems like I would have had one, though... I did have a pair of these:
Dr. Scholl's Exercise Sandals. Man, were they popular. At least when/where I went to school. And they made a hellacious CLOP when those heels hit the floor. It may or may not have been a point of pride for who could clop the loudest.

I did enjoy wearing those, too!
I had those too! My younger sister, the disco queen, always wore Candies which were the high heel version of those. I can't imagine how she danced in them but she did even after being on her feet all day as a surgical floor nurse.
I wore these all through college and they ripped up my feet if I ever had to walk more than four blocks.
