Showing My Work

Here are all the boxes that were emptied in my garage clean-out.

There is a box of books there in the front that needs to be moved over to

these ten who survived the winnowing.  (If you'd like a charming conversation using "winnowing," check this out.)

You can see boxes to the left there that are holding things for a future yard sale.  I am still surprised at how many things I was able to let go.  Is that a function of age, do you think?

I wish it were a function of me. The older I get the harder it is to let go. I could fill a dumpster with stuff in here that doesn't need to be here. I do like to see a pile of empty boxes though. I had piles like that when we did the living room floors and it was easy to get rid of all the junk back then. Somehow it's all filled back in.

I think it is much easier to let go as we get older. Sort of the 'take care of this now so someone else won't have to' thought. Although it is hard to admit I will never use those cross country skis again (even though I haven't used them for almost 30 years).

Good for you!!!! No, not everyone lets things go as they age-in fact, it can be quite the opposite!

Could be. Sometime I think we just get tired of seeing so much stuff.
