Tiny Needle Wednesday

My Stitchery catalog arrived yesterday, and this piece made me chuckle:

While I don't call myself a Mary Engelbreit fan as such, there's some of her work I do like.  I may try to take this saying and plot it out to stitch, just by itself.

Then, there was this piece, which is simply stunning.

This is precisely the type of project my mother would undertake.  Not this piece per se, but a piece that is intricate and complicated and is fully stitched.  No fabric showing at all.  She was never intimidated.  I think she enjoyed the challenges.  Even she, though, would have balked at the $100+ price tag.

I've always wanted to start a "legacy" piece that I would work on my whole life. When I was in my 30's I tried it with that famous unicorn in a fence piece that had 50 plus pages of charts. I got one little corner done and called it quits.
