I think the phrase "I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy" should be retired. I think it's untrue. If something bad happens to you, and you could shove it off to someone else, it seems to me your worst enemy would be high on your choice list. C'mon.
Also, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend"? Maybe. Maybe not.

Agree and agree, especially on that last one. I have pondered that often. There is, however, a theory that you might be aware of called Heider's Balance Theory. It seems to support the enemy of my enemy is my friend maxim. https://www.simplypsychology.org/balance-theory.html
