 I forgot to mention the conversation the cashier at Barnes & Noble and I had.  She remarked on how old my B&N card was.  It was in a nice way, as in my having been a customer for a long time.  That led to a discussion of how credit cards used to be, which led to carbon paper, which led to this:

Do you remember?  The smell, the kinda-cold-kinda-damp feel?  Every single time I think about it, those flood in.  It was a big deal to get picked to go run something off.
