KNITTERS' HUNK and KNITTERS' CHICK HALL OF FAME

In celebration of the 10-year anniversary of The Knitters' Hunk,
and the 5-year anniversary of The Knitters' Chick
we are proud to announce the launch of

πŸ†THE HALL OF FAME.πŸ†

Each year, the team at KH and KC Headquarters will select one, or perhaps two, people to be enshrined in The Hall of Fame.  For this, the inaugural year of 2017, two people have been admitted.

ROXANNE BEEDE
Rox is the reason these contests exist.  She and I have long "argued" over our taste in men, so when I told her I wanted to come up with some sort of blog contest, she suggested what has become Knitters' Hunk.  All thanks should go to her.

ALAN RICKMAN
The first Knitters' Hunk.  The first to win twice.  Obviously, if you win, lots of people love you.  If you win twice, well. . .  It's still hard to believe he's gone.  Thanks, Alan, for setting us on our way.

~~~~~~2018~~~~~~
MAGGIE SMITH
The first Knitters' Chick.  The first to win twice. Perhaps the name should be changed to Knitters' "Dame," in her honor?  A woman women like. And who better to share a cup of tea with, and spend an afternoon knitting with?
(Awaiting photo)
BRITON DEAN
True, he is my son, but for our purposes here, he was the person who pushed for Knitters' Chick.  He's ever been nothing if not fair, and he felt having a contest only for men wouldn't do.  So, here's to the founder of the KC feast.
  1. awe, I love this honor. The Hunks and Chicks is such fun! I have to make sure my friend Karen plays this year. She needs distraction!
Not Really in My Color Wheel
10.  Red There isn't a lot of red stuff in my life.  Never has been.  I remember exactly three red tops I've had in my life, maybe a couple of skirts with red print.  My one red fashion statement has been my red cowboy boots, modeled after my Daddy's red patent leather ones with the gold toe tips.
Red just doesn't suit my coloring.  Mama could wear it.  Hannah can wear it.  It's just never been a big part of any of my color selection life.  I gravitate toward purples and blues and grays, some green.  I avoid orange at all costs.  At least red doesn't awaken that kind of loathing in me.
Guess Free Association is our best plan, then.
RED
blood
wine
Cross
Bull
blood cells
rover
white and blue
hot
wings
(HA!  "hot wings"!)
potatoes
River
Sails in the Sunset
queen
herring
handed
Riding Hood
tape
light
carpet
Scare
ant
clay
rooster
head
panda
And you?  What does red do for you?
9 days until you can submit Knitters' Hunk and Knitters' Chick nominations!
I am late to a lot of parties.  I scarcely ever go to movies, so by the time I watch a film via streaming, or borrow a DVD from Netflix, everyone's fever has come and gone.  Since I read non-fiction almost exclusively, novels that everyone else has long since read and fawned over don't often appear on my radar.  Hence,
If memory serves, Kathy's daughter talked about this book in one of her reading posts over the last few months.  Briton read it long ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it, and it is his copy that I've borrowed and am just sailing through. What an engaging read.  Most of you have probably already read it;  did you like it this much?
For Those About to Nominate. . .
NOMINATIONS ARE CLOSED.
The names of your three Knitters' Hunk and three Knitters' Chick in the comments section, if you please.  You have until 6 PM Eastern Saturday night to submit and/or change your nominees.
As promised, here are mine*: Chris Evans  Sam Neill George Strait Drew Barrymore Rashida Jones Tea Leoni
