The Little Guy

Yesterday, Tap took a tumble, and came up yelping and favoring his back left leg.  To the veterinarian we went.  She couldn't find anything just palpating everything, and his limp had lessened, so she concluded that there wasn't a serious injury, but gave him some pain medicine just in case.

So he's fine.  What went on more than the exam was the chorus of, "He's so cute!"s that rang from the staff, doctors, and other patients' parents.  He is, without a doubt.

Dr. Jones, who saw him, asked, "What kind of dog is he?"  I had been counting on her telling me!
She said, "Some kind of terrier?"  The tech said, "Long-haired chihuahua?  Dachshund?"  I said, "He stands like a hound, with his tail up over his back.  And his coloring is a little like an Afghan."

We couldn't decide.  If I can get more, and better, photos of him, maybe one of you will be able to help.

Not Really in My Color Wheel

10.  Red There isn't a lot of red stuff in my life.  Never has been.  I remember exactly three red tops I've had in my life, maybe a couple of skirts with red print.  My one red fashion statement has been my red cowboy boots, modeled after my Daddy's red patent leather ones with the gold toe tips.

Red just doesn't suit my coloring.  Mama could wear it.  Hannah can wear it.  It's just never been a big part of any of my color selection life.  I gravitate toward purples and blues and grays, some green.  I avoid orange at all costs.  At least red doesn't awaken that kind of loathing in me.

Guess Free Association is our best plan, then.

RED

Cross
Bull

And you?  What does red do for you?

9 days until you can submit Knitters' Hunk and Knitters' Chick nominations!

I am late to a lot of parties.  I scarcely ever go to movies, so by the time I watch a film via streaming, or borrow a DVD from Netflix, everyone's fever has come and gone.  Since I read non-fiction almost exclusively, novels that everyone else has long since read and fawned over don't often appear on my radar.  Hence,
If memory serves, Kathy's daughter talked about this book in one of her reading posts over the last few months.  Briton read it long ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it, and it is his copy that I've borrowed and am just sailing through. What an engaging read.  Most of you have probably already read it;  did you like it this much?

For Those About to Nominate. . .

NOMINATIONS ARE CLOSED.

The names of your three Knitters' Hunk and three Knitters' Chick in the comments section, if you please.  You have until 6 PM Eastern Saturday night to submit and/or change your nominees.
