From the News Desk

Allow me to reach back a couple of posts and thank those of you who backed me up on the cravings thing.  Special thanks to Bridget, who talked about the second part of Cravings Periods: after gorging on whatever it is that you must have for however long you must have it, you suddenly could not care less about it.  That said, I had grapes, cheese and Nut-Thins for "breakfast" today.  Will provide further updates as appropriate.

#Chewy Influencer --- April, Feline Version

Sooooo. . .

It turns out that cats don't like being sprayed with waterless shampoo as much as dogs do.  Erin refuses to even acknowledge me:

I will certainly keep trying to use the shampoo on them, as my experience with the dog shampoo was so positive.
It's a little hard to read on the label, but both these shampoos are made with apple and honey.  How wonderful, and wonderful-sounding, is that?

Chewy.com allows me to try products of my choice each month in exchange for my honest reviews of them.  There are no monetary exchanges whatsoever.

Of Course She Was

It was painful for me to spend this last weekend in Athens while my 40th high school reunion was going on in Nashville.  Thankfully, many of my classmates have posted photos on Facebook, and they have been fun to look at. (One of my teachers, and one of the most important women in my life, was there, and she has not aged a single bit.)  (Also, the first boy I ever had a crush on at that school was there.  6th grade.  He told me I was weird.  He's still cute, though.)

I've mentioned here that I graduated with Ann Shayne's brother;  he was in attendance.
That's Aubrey, on the right there. (Photo by classmate and former doubles partner Jennifer.)  Ann was there, too, which means I not only missed seeing friends, but I missed being able to do some serious knitting talk.

This stuff just plain ol' rocks. Granted, if I were using it on, let us say, a more active dog
its use might have been more of a challenge, but I suspect the results would have been the same.

The shampoo sprays on, and I've been working it into Rupert's hair and skin with my hands and his comb,  He stays still for it all, and his hair becomes soft and shiny.  I've yet to use it on his face (you spray it on a cloth for that), because he's sort of picky about stuff being around his eyes.  He even lets me spritz his undercarriage, so the face thing can be excused.

As usual, let me remind you that my arrangement with Chewy.com does not involve money, but simply the opportunity to try new products and post my honest experiences with and reviews of the products.

Fits and Starts

Do any of you ever have extended periods of food cravings?  I'm on a grapes-and-cheese binge.  In fact, I'm sitting here right now with red grapes, sharp white cheddar and pecan Nut-Thins.  Rupert is asleep to my left, Riley is on my right getting little bites of cheese as I go.

I'm afraid I might run out of yarn on the sweater my cousin asked me to finish.  It doesn't quite add up that having to do all the ribbing in the main color would make that much difference, but it might.  I've frogged and re-cast-on the front trying to save yardage, but still may not get there.

No Worse For Wear

It's never my intention to let lots of time lapse between blog posts.  My life as it stands right now, though, doesn't lend itself to exciting --- heck, even day-to-day muddling --- experiences.  And lately, things have been sort of . . . flat.  Thoughts of going out and doing things are quickly met, and tamped down, by laziness and depression and my ability to talk myself out of any errands.  Let's just say that when you can get groceries delivered, there isn't much need to venture out.

I recently finished a sweater with some pima cotton that mesmerized me.
Sometimes the knitting is just plain pretty, you know?  The color and the texture and the feel and the drape all come together.

Stuff and Things

New Thing: The Body Shop's Banana Shampoo.

Delicious Thing:  Eggo Cinnamon Toast Waffles.  Seriously.  Toast them and eat them.  You don't need butter or syrup or anything.

Seasonal Stuff:  Pollen.  Rupert's toes get all yellow when we go outside,

and there's that sticky, sweet smell in the air.

Vanity Thing: My nails are embarrassingly, exasperatingly short.  I am unhappy with my hands just now.

Aggravating Thing:  Four-way stops.  Not that difficult, people --- come on.

First-time Thing: I don't believe we've ever video of a Knitters' Hunk in his undershirt, or even un-shirted, before.

Knitting Stuff: I'm trying not to think about the fact that there may not be enough yarn to finish the sweater my cousin sent me.  One sleeve took almost three skeins, and there's the front and the other sleeve to go.  The yarn has been discontinued, so how far it will go is all there will be.

48

If you've ever rented a movie on Amazon Prime, you know you have 48 hours in which to watch it.  (By the way, why do we "watch"...
